Dog Lamps # 1: wacky or tacky?

January 12, 2008 by ann

If dogs have been used in art for centuries, then why can't our best friends give us inspiration when making lamps as well? Euro Puppy has always liked innovative and new things and has done a bit of research to see what people come up with when designing lamps that incorporate the image of dogs. Every week we will portray 2 dog lamps. Is one wacky and the other one tacky? Are both wacky? Or both tacky? We will leave it up to you to decide. While having our own beliefs about them, we would love your comments...are they wacky or tacky? Enjoy....

Lamp # 1: If you dig bizarre lamps then Lucky The Dachshund Accent Lamp is definitely your thing. The textured amber glass torso of this happy pup glows while an inquisitive muzzle points up as if to ask what the next meal will be. Antiqued brass finish on extremely detailed metal, including an adorable buckle collar and dangling name tag. You can’t deny that a wiener dog with an illuminated torso is pretty funny!

Lamp # 2: These dog lamps are called "Skeleton dog lamps". Well if you’re looking for a way to freak out house-guests, then this is the thing for you! This sweet little doggy lamp turns into a skeleton when you plug it in. Made from lightweight polypropylene, this dog lamp (around 1 foot tall) looks innocent enough right up until you turn it on. It turns in to a skeleton dog that’s sure to give Grandma a bit of a scare!

So? Wacky or tacky? What do you think dear Dog lover?
